The Maori word for Kai is food. In Maori there are many different foods like Penna,Te,hie hie. There are Maori foods the Maoris made back when captain cook was exploring the country new zealand. And that food was called Kai that’s how they named Kai food. So what they did to make this food is dug a 6 meter hole in the ground, put some logs and sticks in it,and then put the food in then lite it up and you have hanging. About 3 years ago I think our school stopped making it because there was a sermon if you don’t know what a sermon is in Maori is gathering and meeting with the people you love.
